About Me
A true devotion to the craft stems from my Kentucky mountain roots and an intense satisfaction of allowing nature's beauty speak for itself. As a single mama, I took the leap to go fulltime and I founded Charleston Live Edge, LLC after many years flipping houses and building tiny houses. I discovered my first slab of Rainbow Poplar on accident and was awed by the colors that popped out as I began to sand it. I realized that most woods available in hardware stores are our cheapest low-grade varieties. As a result, I fell in love with exploring the higher quality wood species and the incredible character and artful grain in the rarer wood. Live Edge carpentry is my obsession. It is an honor to save the trees from being dumped in the landfill and create custom furniture pieces that are passed down as heirloom furniture. I appreciate all the support and encouragement as I teach others how to work with their hands. It is important for the next generation to know the incredible fulfillment of learning a trade.
